Delmar, South Carolina
Reliable Plumbing You Can Count On
Trusted by families and businesses alike, from leaks to installations, we cover it all.
Delmar is a small, scattered rural community in Saluda County, just south of Batesburg-Leesville and about 20 miles from our Lexington shop. It's less a town than a crossroads: a handful of farms and large rural lots spread along Delmar Road, most of them tied to a history that goes back more than a century before anyone built a subdivision out here. We know this stretch well, including the private wells and septic systems that still serve most of the houses along it.

About the Area
A Look at Delmar
Delmar never incorporated as a town, and it still isn't one today. It's a rural crossroads community that shows up in local records as far back as the early 1900s, when the Delmar School opened around 1896 and a local Delmar Lodge and a Batesburg-Delmar telephone line connected it to the larger towns nearby. A post office served the area for a time in the early 1900s, and the old Delmar School building, long retired from classes, still stands along SC Highway 391 with a historical marker noting its place in the community. Delmar sits just across the county line from Batesburg-Leesville in Lexington County, close enough that the two share a Leesville mailing address today even though Delmar itself is in Saluda County.
Plumbing Considerations
What Makes Delmar Different
Delmar never built out the kind of municipal water and sewer system a town like Batesburg-Leesville has. Properties here tend to sit on several acres rather than a standard subdivision lot, which was typical for a farming community and still shapes the area today, and most homes here get their water from a private well and dispose of wastewater through a septic tank rather than any public hookup. Private well water across this part of the Piedmont and Sandhills region is known for naturally occurring iron and manganese, which doesn't make it unsafe but does cause the staining, odor, and taste problems homeowners notice in sinks, tubs, and laundry. Add in wells and septic systems that, on some of these older farm properties, have been in the ground for decades, and Delmar calls for a different toolkit than a town running on city water.

Comprehensive Services
Full-Service Plumbing for Delmar
Every call in Delmar starts with figuring out what's actually feeding the house, since there's no municipal system to fall back on for reference. We service private wells, including pressure tanks and pumps that are often original to a decades-old farmhouse, and we handle for systems that were never built to take anything but normal household use. Iron and manganese staining shows up often enough in local well water that a is usually the real fix, not just a new fixture. When a line running out to an older well house develops a leak, our equipment finds it before a patch of yard turns soft and spongy. If an old farmhouse's foundation turns out to be the real source of a leak, our specialists can trace it and get in with as little digging as possible. For anything not mentioned above, our full list of services spells out the rest of what we handle in and around Delmar.

Why Choose Us
Why Choose Dr Rooter in Delmar
A lot of what we do in Delmar doesn't look like a typical service call. There's no city water bill to check first and no sewer cleanout to start from, just a well, a pressure tank, and a septic system the homeowner is usually more familiar with than most plumbers ever get to be. We carry well and septic parts on the truck specifically because we know how often we'll need them out this way, not just the standard fittings that work fine in town. Technicians who show up already know this is a well-and-septic stretch of the county, not a guessing game once they're in the driveway. They're licensed and background-checked like every Dr Rooter technician, and the price is settled before any tool comes out of the truck, no matter how far down the gravel road the house sits.
