Bathroom Items that Should be Replaced Regularly

Your bathroom is one of the most frequently used rooms in your home, which means your bathroom accessories are being used at least once, but sometimes more, every day. Most of us know that bathrooms are susceptible to mold and mildew growth due to moisture, so we’re sharing a few bathroom items that you should replace regularly to avoid bacteria.

Keep your bathroom as clean as possible by switching out these accessories often!

Toothbrushes

You’re most likely brushing your teeth once, but hopefully twice, each day. Over time, your toothbrush bristles will wear down and won’t clean your teeth fully. Replace your toothbrush or its head at least every three months to ensure those pearly whites stay clean and free from bacteria!

Bath Mats

There are probably multiple people stepping onto your bathroom’s bath mats after showering each day, and since they spend most of their time on the floor, they need to be washed or replaced regularly. While most bath mats are water absorbent, bacteria can still collect on them since they are being stepped on so often. If your bath mat is visibility damaged or dirty, you’re better off just replacing it. Otherwise, we recommend washing it at least once a week to clean it of the water it absorbed throughout the week.

Loofahs

Loofahs really come in handy for cleaning your skin in the shower, but due to the moisture and soap they collect, they can grow bacteria rather quickly. If your loofah isn’t replaced often, you’re basically washing your body with an accessory that has bacteria on it. That kind of defeats the purpose, right? We recommend wringing your loofah dry after each use and storing it in a dry place. Replace it with a new loofah once a month or even sooner if you notice your current loofah has a buildup of soap residue or is starting to smell.
